Additional Info: George Felty is currently the new organist at Christ Church(UCC) in Des Plaines, Illinois. In addition, he teaches piano part-time at Naperville Music and does home teaching as well. Previously, Mr. Felty was the former organist at First United Methodist Church in La Grange, Illinois where he worked with Gary Wilhelm. From 2003-2009, Mr. Felty was the music director and organist at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Felty has a Master of Church Music and Organ Degree from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois where his principal teacher was Dr. Steven Wente. He also holds a Master of Music Degree from Norfolk State University where he did organ work with Dr. Allen Shaffer and Dr. Carl Haywood. His undergraduate degree is from Concord University in West Virginia with additional piano and organ work at West Virginia University under Herman Godes and Dr. Clyde English. While a student at West Virginia University, Mr. Felty was vocal coach accompanist for Francis Yeend and Jon Crain, master teachers and artists with the Metropolitan Opera. Mr. Felty has done concerts at the Washington National Cathedral, Creative Arts Center at West Virginia University, Performing Arts Center at Towson State University where he was accompanist for the choral society, and numerous churches throughout West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Illinois. Mr. Felty is currently an active member of the Fox Valley American Guild of Organists.
