After 4 yrs. of piano lessons, I begin organ lessons at age 12. I was playing for my Sun night church service a month later. I played organ there until I left for college, and did not resume playing regularly again until I moved back to my hometown to settle there 13 yrs. later. I played again for the next 11 years. A change of job took me to work at Texas A&M U. and we belonged to a church for 7 years there until this church sponsored a new church and I was approached to be their organist. That was in 1995 and I am still the current organist there today. I have no formal organ training, just my experience over the years. I go to organ workshops at Baylor U. when they are scheduled and that keeps me current. |
